Ieriķi - Cecīļu Nature Trail
Ieriķi - Cecīļu Nature Trail

Cecīļu Nature Trail is a hiking trail, where you can get to know Amata county nature objects along the Kumada river, Dančupīte and Amata river. 


The beginning of the trail is in Ieriķi, Amata county, 1km from the café, petrol station and Tourist Information Centre, which is also the centre of Cecīļi nature trail visitors, at the “Lejas Cecīļi” house.

Working Hours

The trail can be visited at any time of the year.

Cecīļu Nature Trail is illuminated in the dark time of the season, on Fridays, Saturdays and by prior arrangement from 5 PM to 10 PM.

Entrance fee

 2.00 EUR adults 

1.50 EUR pupils, students, seniors, disable people 
Pre-school children - free of charge.
Pupils guaranteed guided tours 1.50 EUR/per. (teacher free of charge)

Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the unmodified natural landscape - Dančupīte canyon, Dančupīte cave, miniature waterfall, impressive Cecīļi rock from the right bank of the Kumada river, Cecīļu pine, which is recognized as one of Latvia's great trees as well as other objects.


The trail is marked.

The length of the trail is 1.3 km, but it can be extended by going to "Līči", across the Amata river, further along the right bank, enjoying the charm of Amata's geological trail.

The trail can be visited at any time of the year.

In the dark time of the season, Cecīļu rock and Dančupīte are illuminated on Saturdays and by prior arrangement.


Additional information at Ceciļi Nature Trail visitors' centre, which is situated at the premises of Amata county Tourism Information centre (Kumadas iela 2, Ieriķi).


The trail is not suitable for strolling with baby prams and cycling.


When visiting the trail, you need to take care of comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for hiking. In wet weather the trail can be slippery and muddy.
