Short description
|
The building of the Castle started while the Order of the Brethren of the Sword Master Venno in 1207. Initially – a ”Castellum” type fortress with a chapel.

It was built instead of ancient stone building as living house for the manor owners Kropotkins from 1878 to 1881. After the World War I, Latvian Printing Association started managing the New Castle.

Short description

Turaida Medieval Castle was built in 1214 according to the Bishop Albert’s directive. Gradual expansion and building continued until the 16TH century.

Nurmižu Manor in Sigulda Parish is a local architecture monument. It was in year 1561, when the Order Master Ketler assigned the Nurmiži Parish in Sigulda Region to Uradern.
