Sigulda is the favourite place for fly-wannabes! It is not without reason that it is called the Switzerland of Vidzeme, and we should add that Sigulda looks even more beautiful from a hot air balloon! We offer a wide range of flights – classic, romantic, gastro, as well as flights for marriage or work events.
Flying over Sigulda, you will see the ancient Gauja River Valley and the Gauja River meandering through forests and sandstone rocks, while the ruins of the Livonian Order Castle and Sigulda Castle provide a particularly picturesque view. Sigulda is one of the few towns where, as you take off from the valley, you can admire the treetops that seem to rise with the balloon to the top of the valley and then linger at the bottom as the balloon continues its ascent. Sigulda could be considered the hot air balloon capital of Latvia! Although locals are used to seeing five or more hot air balloons in the Sigulda sky on a calm summer evening, this can be a pleasant experience for Sigulda’s visitors.
The company gaisabalons.lv is proud to be one of the most mobile balloon teams in Latvia, offering lift off from almost anywhere. With experienced pilots flying along for the adventure – you’ll get picture postcard-worthy shots for your photo album!
The flight is about an hour long (depending on the safety of the landing) and you will fly up to 20 kilometres during the flight! The total time for the activity, which includes inflating the balloon, flying, getting back and forth to the meeting point, will take about 3 hours! We do not recommend the flight for pregnant women, people who have recently undergone surgery, hip and leg conditions. The balloon flight takes place in the early mornings 2-3 hours after sunrise and in the evenings 2-3 hours before sunset. The agreed flight time may be changed in case of bad weather conditions, with prior notice to the passenger.
