Finding your winter's most beautiful sightseeing place

We invite you to enjoy the glorious winter in Sigulda, walking along the nature trails of the ancient Gauja valley. We offer to see various natural and cultural-historical objects combined with a walk through nature at the most beautiful time of the year.

The mountainous surroundings and historic castle mounds delight the eyes, especially in winter, when trees and land are covered with a thick and snow-white winter blanket. Therefore, in order to capture these landscapes in photography, create works of art, or simply relax the eyes as well as the mind, we offer to visit several viewpoints in Sigulda and its surroundings.

Emperor's view

The Emperor's view, located in a wooded area, is one of the most beautiful views of the bends of the Gauja River. Here you can see a wide panorama and see Turaida Castle and other important sights of Sigulda. There is a "mushroom" next to the Emperor's view, where tired tourists can sit back and regain their strength or hide in any weather.

Castle of Livonian order, its Castle Quarter and viewing platforms

Sigulda Castle and the Castle Quarter is a place where it is possible not only to enjoy the medieval historical aura but also to delight the eyes. The viewpoint on the right side of the territory in the ruins of Sigulda Livonian Castle allows you to clearly see Turaida Castle. The stone walls of the castle opens a different landscape to the historical building of Sigulda Castle and the quarter, including the New Sigulda Castle (Summer Castle), etc. A far-reaching view also opens from the viewing platform on the left side of Sigulda New Castle.

Festivity Square and Ferris Wheel

From the viewing area, also called amongst locals (the edge of the world), created on the outskirts of the Festivity Square, you can capture a breathtaking view of the ancient valley of the Gauja and the Krimulda Castle on the right bank of the river. Close to the Festivity Square is the Ferris Wheel, which delights tourists with a ride overseeing the beautiful Gauja River in the summer season, but in the winter season, it can be captured in unique photos.

Cable Car over Gauja River

A ride in the Cable Car is not only a unique mode of transport in Latvia, but also in the whole Baltics, with which you can get from the city of Sigulda to Krimulda. On the way, of the height of 42 m above the ancient valley of the Gauja, the view's landscapes open from several sides. Maybe visitors will even manage to see the popular bear? If, however, there is no desire to ride the Cable Car, then it is definitely worth going there anyway, because there is also a beautiful view of both Krimulda Manor and Turaida Castle by the cable car on the viewing platform.

Krimulda Manor and its surroundings

One of the historical castle mounds of the region - Krimulda, is a place where several architectural monuments have been preserved to this day - Krimulda Manor, castle ruins of the Krimulda castle, buildings of 19th-century Krimulda village. buildings. Krimulda is the perfect place from which to see wide nature views - from Krimulda viewpoints you can see Sigulda, Turaida and the Gauja ancient valley.

Paradise Hill- Painters' Hill

One of the most scenic places in Sigulda. The surroundings of Paradise Hill are surrounded by several natural objects - The Raven's Ravine and cave, Satezele Castle Mound and Peter's Cave, but it truly is the picturesque view of the ancient Gauja valley and the Turaida Castle Mound in the distance makes this point of view especially unforgettable!

The Bridge over Gauja River

The Bridge over Gauja River is the only monolithic reinforced concrete bridge in Latvia that is based on three circle arches 35 meters wide. The total length of the bridge is 153 meters and the height above the river is over 16 meters. This bridge can safely be called the main tourist attraction of the Latvian Golden Autumn - it connects three historical and beautiful places - Sigulda, Turaida and Krimulda, and could also be one of the most photographed bridges in Latvia.

Pedestrian Bridge across Gauja River

The Pedestrian Bridge across the Gauja was built in 1979 with the aim of creating a circular route for visitors to the ancient Gauja valley. It is also worth mentioning that the Devils Rock and Cave have been a long stopping point for tourists who are interested in nature objects. Directly from the Pedestrian Bridge, there is a picturesque view of the cliffs and the Gauja River itself. You have the opportunity to go on a walking route that will take you to such places as Piķene Cliff, Aunapiere Cave and other places.

More places of breathing views: Emperor's Chair, left and right bank of the Gauja River, Satezele Castle Mound, Vikmeste Castle Mound.
